Alan Billingsley
Alan Price Billingsley, 88, of Chattanooga passed away on April 28, 2009 in a local healthcare facility.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is celebrating with the Lord Jesus, after living out the example of a Servant’s heart before his family and friends.
He was a native of Marion County TN. and a member of Central Church of Christ for over 67 years, where he served as a Deacon. He held membership in the Appalachian Area chapter of Blacksmiths, and was retired from Southern Wood Piedmont Company in 1986, after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dewey P. Billingsley; parents, James S. and Henri Ellen Billingsley; sisters, Mava Downey, Wilma Billingsley, and Mona Kay Billingsley.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Iona J. Billingsley; son, Dewayne (Beverly) Billingsley of Hixson, daughter-in-law, Kay Billingsley, sisters, Edna Mae Mosley, Loraine Hamby, and brother, W.C. Billingsley; grandchildren, Derek (Stephanie) Billingsley, Doug Billingsley, Kristen (Matt) Sigler, and Aaron Billingsley; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Shelby Billingsley, Allison and Katelyn Sigler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 30th at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with David Schonhoff and Chuck Kilpatrick officiating.
Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM today, Wednesday, April 29th and on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the North chapel.
