Hi Grandpa,

I'm thinking about all the best memories I have from all my years growing up with you. Here are some of my favorites:

-- Our endless genealogy search! Spending countless hours at the library with Aunt Barb, going through all that film stuff (can't remember what it's called!) and trying to find old census records.

--The time you took me to the movies to see Cinderella when I just a few years old.

--You always trying to get me to vote democrat (Hey, it worked once!).

--Your war stories. I always loved hearing about all the incredible things you did overseas and clung to every word. I'm still amazed to this day and so proud.

-- Going out to lunch with you and Grandma at Frisch's and Shoneys.

--Riding in the car to look at the Sharonville Christmas light display.

-- Playing soccer or skating and always seeing you and Grandma sitting in your chairs on the sidelines :)

-- Your cheerful "Hi, Maria!" greeting you'd always give me.

-- Your winks!!! They were the best.

--You proudly introducing me to people as your oldest grandchild!

--Your emailing! I loved all the forwards you'd send me, especially the cute animal ones. And of course, the way you'd sign your e-mails to me, "Grand Pa."

--The fun sleepovers at your and Grandma's house! Whether it was New Year's Eve (which, by the way, have topped some of the NYE parties I've had in my adult years) or week-long stays when Mom and Dad were out of town, David and I always had so much fun. We never wanted to leave, and hated when Mom and Dad came back to pick us up!

I know there are so many more...

Love you always,
Maria
