Biographie

Anthony Joseph (Tony) Weisman, eldest son of Bernard and Reba (Robinson) Weisman of Comal County, died suddenly Sept. 29, 2009 in Seguin, Texas. Born May 31, 1944, he was 65.

Since 1999, Tony and wife Sylvia Manning have worked to restore and maintain the historic Sonka House on Guadalupe Street in Seguin.

Tony graduated salutatorian of one of the first classes of Canyon High School in 1962 and then earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University. A life-long learner, in 2008 he earned the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the Green Building Certification Institute. Tony was highly regarded by those with whom he worked for his keen mind, breadth of knowledge and professional integrity. For many years, he has served as construction manager for Slay Architecture and Slay Engineering of San Antonio.

Tony will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sylvia Ann Manning; sisters Kathy Nichols and Carolyn LaTouf of Austin; brother and sister-in-law John and Anne Weisman of Hunter; brother, Jim Weisman of Austin; daughters Stephanie Weisman of Bastrop and Leecia Manning of New York City; nieces Elizabeth, Rachel, and Alicia; nephews Cassidy and Bryan; and granddaughters Savannah and Stella, as well as countless friends and colleagues at work and in the community.

A memorial Mass will be said at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Honey Creek. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
