OBITUARY

Leona Molina was born on July 27, 1912 to Maria and Victor Molina in Artesia, New Mexico where she was raised. Leona had a total of thirteen children, however, only six children made it to their adult age. At the age of fifty-one she moved to San Jose, California with her son Tony Galindo and two daughters, Margaret Alvarez and Martha Reyna and their children.
Leona departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 2:40 PM.
Leona will be remembered as a giving, compassionate, generous, loving, forgiving, and kind person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a great friend to have. She taught her children and grandchildren many things, she was a great teacher and mentor. She worked very hard to care for her children by working for others by cleaning houses, ironing clothes, and painting houses inside and out. She was a strong lady, a survivor, and could always make ends meet. In 1999 her doctors had said it would be a miracle if she made it to the end of the year, instead she made it to 2004. She was a unique, special woman with a heart of gold and with so much patience. She helped care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her smile and laughter would brighten your day. She was always willing to lend a hand to others and would give you her last dollar. She always made everyone feel welcome and treated friends as if they were family. Immediately she would offer you food and something to drink. She loved to surprise you with gifts or by making you dinner or baking you something. For no reason she would want to take you out to eat. She was a great cook and she loved to bake cakes, bread and much more. You could smell her homemade tortilla from outside. She would always wear an apron when she was in the kitchen and wore her makeup, earrings and always looked good and smelled good too. She loved to have her family and friends together, and did not need a reason for a gathering. Her Stanley parties meant having a big feast. She touched so many lives. When she lived with someone she would buy enough food to feed an army and helped around the house. Because of her pride she always did more than her share. She loved to work and felt helpless if she was not doing something. She was a worrier, always wanted to make sure everyone was okay. She had sayines that would make you think or make you laugh. She loved listening to music, sewing, singing, dancing and playing the piano and she was very creative. She loved plants and flowers, especially roses. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and loved her friends as if they were family. She loved everyone unconditionally.
Leona leaves behind six children: Margaret Alvarez, Tony Galindo, Alfred Leyba, Esther Reyna, Martha Reyna, Lupe Perez, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren with two more on the way, one great-great grandchild and other relatives and friends. She will be especially missed by her grand-daughter and caregiver, Sylvia Martinez.

She will be missed dearly
